Noel Muscutt

Senior Pastor, Elder

Noel Muscutt is the Senior Pastor and and Elder at San Juan Baptist Church.

I was born and raised in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. I have two wonderful parents, Dale and Ruth, and a precious sister, Marlo, who I attended church with from my earliest years. Though sitting under the ministry of some very faithful preachers, I did not come to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior until I really began to read my Bible and really listen to the preaching at the age of 14. At this age, my life revolved around sports and popularity. However, through the reading of God’s word and hearing it preached faithfully, I struggled with the fact that, if I were to die, though I had all the friends I could ever want and was accepted by many as a good guy, I knew the sin that was still in my own heart and I knew that these sins would lead me to eternal judgment. Finally one night when while trying to fall asleep, I could bear it no longer and I climbed out of my bed, got on my knees, and asked Jesus for forgiveness for my sins and committed my life to follow Him. I will never forget how well I slept that night and God has been working in me to make me more into the person He wants me to be ever since.

Having committed my life to Him, I wanted to serve Him however I could. With a love for evangelism and apologetics, I wanted a deeper knowledge of the world’s philosophy in order to better engage people with the gospel. This led me to earn my degree in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario. Following this, I attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where I completed my Masters degree. I am now closing in on the completion of my doctoral studies through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition, I have been very blessed through the influence of great pastors and teachers like D. A. Carson, R. Albert Mohler, Jr., John Piper, John Calvin, Augustine, Greg Bahnsen, Francis Schaeffer, and many others who have had an enormous impact on my life.

I am married to Regina Muscutt with three incredible children who, I am so happy to say, seem to be committed to following Jesus as well.

My desire for San Juan Baptist Church and for all who attend is that we, as a body of believers, would glorify God by enjoying Him forever, worshiping and serving together to see Jesus worshiped as the true King both here in Port Townsend and to the ends of the earth.
